Unusual Accomplishment

Thanks to our friend Marcel we have had numerous “biggest ball of yarn” type stops on our trip. So far the best one has been Coral Castle. A very small man (5 feet) mined and built this magnificent castle in the hopes that the love of his life would someday come back to him. Sadly she never did. How such a small man could move blocks weighing as much as 20 tons has remained a mystery. If you ever find yourself driving through the southern most reaches of Florida, we recommend this mind blowing stopping point.

I LOVE reading these pieces Jessica……look forward to them. A bonus today with two new ones!
The Coral Castle looks a little “Stonehenge”-like. The crescent looking moons up high are magnificent! Love the picture of Phil sitting in the coral chair….very cute!

Somewhat inspiring to learn that one man’s idea of dealing with his longing was to build a solid imaginary structure that would survive years, and amuse others as a site of unusual beauty.

… rather than stalk the lady, call her a lot, incessantly write letters, or whatever…
