Thirty Six Degrees
Our first night in the van was thirty six degrees and cozy at a deserted campsite at Amicalola Falls State Park. We had purchased Krispy Kreme donuts the night before so we could enjoy them in the morning. After our breakfast of champions we browsed the visitor center, which doubles as the start/end for the Appalachian trail. We saw artifacts from the first person to through hike the trail (naturally one of the items was a camera). I wasn’t quite ready for the 8.5 mile (one way) hike to see the actual start/end of the AT so we opted for the waterfall hike which included 600 stairs and looped around to the lodge where we had lunch with a view.
We are still working on an estimated route for the year, but are very close. We have a long email list of family/friends who we will contact with this info once its done so you can start planning your trips to visit us!
