Pacific Ring of Fire

Mount St Helens is an active volcano that is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. A fact that sounds really cool and is equally impressive in person. Like many of the best places we’ve seen, the area has a very diverse landscape. You can still see lava flow from the 1980 eruption as well as the new growth over the rock. Our original intention was to summit the mountain but we were too late getting the required permits so we explored the surrounding areas and waterfalls instead.
